Sous Chef Civitas Senior Living is looking for a professional sous chef for Ledgestone Senior Living located in West Austin, Texas. As a working kitchen supervisor, you will play an extremely critical role in the overall resident & guest experience by bringing your passion for food to our operations and completely “owning” the quality and consistency of the food that you prepare. We are passionate about food quality and safety standards and expect our kitchen team to be as well. We are professionals who take our craft seriously and only want to work with like-minded people as we continue to grow.   Role, Responsibilities & qualifications: 5 years of culinary experience in high volume kitchen preferred but willing to train the right candidate with at least 3 year of experience. Passionate about quality standards and willing to learn, teach, uphold and enforce those standards Have the ability to oversee, prepare, and cook product to menu specification as well as understand and precisely follow recipes. Memorize and utilize serving portion sizes and basic meal prep processes used in the kitchen Possess basic cooking temperature knowledge & have the ability to remember product combinations and execute them to order Ensure that all sanitation standards are met. Motivated, dependable, punctual, presentable, organized and task oriented self-starter Ability to understand and adhere to food safety and sanitation protocols as well as company policies and procedures. Memorize and utilize our serving portion sizes and all basic meal prep procedures used in the kitchen Ability to stand for 6+ hours at a time, and ability to carry, push, and pull 40 lbs. on a consistent basis. Current food handler’s card. Supervise a team of cooks to do portion prep work for other shifts when needed Monitor product freshness and rotate out old product based on a schedule created by the restaurant *All responsibilities are not limited to those listed above. Job Type: Full-time Required experience: Grill Cook: 3 year Line Cook: 3 year Knife skills, able to cook on a grill, flat top, fryer and knowledge of all kitchen equipment  Culinary degree/training preferred, will consider experience in lieu of training/degree EOE, competitive compensation, benefits and paid time off. Must be able to pass all required pre-employment screening. Job Type: Full-time Supervisory Experience: 3 years minimum
